How to Hit the High Backhand Volley

Meet the ball well out in front so that you can see it easily and have plenty of forward momentum behind your volley.

The easiest way to hit a high backhand volley is flat. The lower your point of contact with a volley gets, the more backspin helps, but on a ball as high as this, you have an unobstructed line between your strings and your target, so just hit through the ball toward your target.
