Don't Miss Gonzales vs. Federer

Saturday January 27, 2007
Fernando Gonzales and Roger Federer both displayed such brilliant tennis in their semifinals that they overwhelmed their opponents, Tommy Haas and Andy Roddick, respectively. If they sustain that level into the final, it should be among the best we'll see. Federer has already proven himself one of the all-time greats, very likely the best ever, but Gonzales is red hot in this Australian Open, and he has a real chance at an upset. Many now consider Fernando's forehand to be second only to Roger's. Both are also serving, moving, and hitting their backhands extremely well. The biggest question is whether the occasion will get to Fernando. Roger has been there many times. This is by far Fernando's best Grand Slam performance.
