Where should I aim approach shots?

By Jeff Cooper, About.com

Question: Where should I aim approach shots?

Answer: You should almost always aim approach shots down the line, because you will end up closer to the middle of the passing shot angles your opponent can attempt. Approaching crosscourt is usually advisable only if your opponent's passing shot from that side is so weak that it's worth your having to move farther to get to the proper position at net.
