Guide Review - Racquet Review - Wilson Hyper Pro Staff 6.1 Standard Length

With a 95-square-inch head and a flat beam 22 mm wide that Wilson rates with medium flex, this racquet will make you generate your own power. The balance, head-light by 1 1/4", provides enough maneuverability to encourage ventures to the net. The 12.3 ounces (strung) might seem heavy to some, but that weight helps to minimize shock on groundstrokes and contributes to the racquet's very solid feel. If you take big swings, you need predictability. The Hyper Pro Staff 6.1 offers an optimal mix of spin potential and control.

Wilson Hyper ProStaff 6.1 Tour Tennis Racquet, Member Mrogers7

This racket was never sold to the public. I was given a few of these rackets by Wilson back when I played on the tour, and they mentioned that these were only available to tour players. I played with them for about a year on tour and I have been coaching ever since so ive had no use for them. Since I began coaching ive played with over a dozen different rackets of all makes and models, and I can easily say that this was by far my favorite. This is an absolutely badass racket designed for advanced players looking for the right control, maneuverability and spin potential. This racket differs from the standard Hyper ProStaff 6.1 because it weighs 12.8 ounces as opposed to the regular 12.3 ounces. The 12.8 ounces (strung) might seem heavy to some, but that weight helps to minimize shock on groundstrokes and contributes to the racket's very solid feel and predictability. Also the 18x20 string pattern that the tour has offers an optimal mix of spin potential and control.
