Here, Andy gives an outstanding demonstration of full extension on a serve. The power of the upward thrust from his legs has lifted his feet well off the ground, raising his point of contact to an even more advantageous angle above the net, and he's stretching for every inch he can get; only at full extension does the kinetic chain that produces the power on a serve take full effect. Andy is striking upward and left-to-right across the ball, thus creating a mixture of topspin, slice, and forward velocity. He's keeping his head and eyes pointed upward right through contact, something many of his competitors fail to do.
