Gabriela Sabatini of Argentina turned pro in 1985 at age 14. Here she is in her first year on the tour, showing her athleticism and love of upward motion, as in topspin. Many players topspin virtually every forehand, but Gabriela would hit topspin on her one-handed backhand almost no matter how high her point of contact, which is very hard to do. Sabatini spun her way to multiple semifinals and finals at all of the majors, but her only Grand Slam singles title was the 1990 US Open.
