Wait for the right shot. In both sports, your chances of scoring points are much greater if you plan ahead and set up the right opportunity. In basketball, if you make a low-percentage shot, you're likely to give possession to the other team. In tennis a low-percentage shot often gives a point immediately to the opponent, if you miss, or sets her up for an easy winner, such as when you hit a poor drop shot. Haste makes waste.
