The Snap-Attaching Tool

Pictured here is one of the simpler types of snap-attaching tool with the four pieces that must be attached to make each stud-and-socket snap pair. You use a hammer as the force on the tool that punches the little spikes on one of the narrow rings through the fabric into the stud or socket on the other side of the fabric, holding the unit quite securely in place. This type of tool, with snaps, costs less than $15. It's not difficult to use, but you might ruin a couple of the little spiky rings before you get the hang of it, so get a few extras.
