Make the Ultimate Sun Hat: Photo How-To

Choose a hat with as broad a brim as you can find. The lighter the hat's color, the more sunlight it will reflect, and the cooler it will feel. Attach one snap socket (see later pages) at the back of the hat and the other two as far forward as possible on your right and left without having the curtain intrude uncomfortably on your field of vision.

Unfortunately, the hat you see here is no longer made, but lots of other broad-brimmed hats are available. The ones that come in different head sizes are most likely to give you a comfortable fit.
