Agassi Takes Third Aussie Title

Continued from Page 1:

Jennifer Capriati's long, hard comeback on the WTA Tour bore fruit with a convincing 6-4, 6-3 upset win over world number one Martina Hingis. This is Capriati's first Grand Slam singles title, ten years after she joined the tour at age 14. See the full story here.

Todd Woodbridge and Jonas Bjorkman won the men's doubles title by beating Wayne Black and David Prinosil 6-1, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. This was Woodbridge's first Grand Slam doubles title without Mark Woodforde, with whom he had won 11 others, the most for any pair in the Open Era.

The Williams sisters, Venus and Serena, defeated Lindsay Davenport and Corina Morariu 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to fill in the one missing piece of a career women's doubles Grand Slam.

In mixed doubles, Ellis Ferreira and Corina Morariu took the final easily, 6-1, 6-3, over Joshua Eagle and Barbara Schett.

Will Agassi keep up this pace well into his thirties? At least one of our forum members thinks so.
