Photo Lesson: The Moderately Low Forehand Volley

Friday June 27, 2008
Wimbledon's grass is slower than it used to be, and as a result, attacking at the net is more difficult, because your opponent has more time to line up a passing shot, and with the ball bouning a little higher, more opportunity to generate topspin. With topspin, your opponent can force you to make contact below the top of the net. When you get such a ball, you'll often need to hit the volley explained in this photo-illustrated, step-by-step lesson.
